Demographic percentages and Census Block Groups are key ingredients in your institution's Bayesian Improved Surname Geocoding (BISG) calculations for Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) compliance.
Yet, working with data directly from the Census can be frustrating. Even if you get the data from the FFIEC flat files, you still need to manually calcuate the demographic percentages yourself. It might not sound like much, but when this is something you're doing every regularly, that time adds up.
When you upload a list of addresses or use our API and select the ACS-Demographics append, we'll return the Census boundaries (like FIPS codes and block group) as well as the demographics—with the percentages already calculated.
Geocodio won't build your full BISG, but we can make it faster for you to get to the point of running the surname analysis that much faster.
ACS data is available back to 2010.
