Everyone gets their first 2,500 lookups per day for free. No credit card is required until the amount of lookups exceeds the allotted free amount.
Pay-as-You-Go is billed every month on the 1st, based on total usage from the previous month. You only pay for usage above the daily free tier. For example, if you upload a file on March 15, you will be charged on April 1. You are only charged if you have usage above the free tier for the previous month.
Additional datasets — such as Congressional Districts, State Legislative Districts, Census Identifiers, ACS data, etc. — can be appended to your results. Each dataset you add counts as one additional lookup for each record. For example, if you wanted the Timezone data for 1,000 addresses, it would count as 2,000 lookups.
You have two options: (1) Usage limits — set a daily limit for up to 50,000 lookups per day, and requests will fail above that limit. (2) Credits — purchase credits upfront to ensure you don't exceed a certain dollar amount.
Yes, a volume discount is available if you purchase lookup credits upfront. Discounts start when geocoding more than 500,000 lookups in a job. Credits you purchase are automatically deducted from your bill at the end of the month.
The pay-as-you-go plan has a rate limit of 1,000 lookups per minute when using the single request API endpoint. If you need to exceed this, you can use our Unlimited plan, which provides dedicated resources and no rate limiting.
