Quick summary: Geocodio's cd120 data append has been updated with the newly established Congressional district boundaries for Texas, California, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, and Utah. If you're already using the cd1210 field, updated district data will be returned automatically, and there are no changes needed on your end.

When we launched support for 120th Congress district boundaries back in November, multiple states were in the middle of an unprecedented wave of mid-cycle redistricting. We committed to incorporating new boundaries as they became available, and we're happy to announce that the latest data is now available.

What's New

The following states now have updated Congressional district boundaries reflected in Geocodio's cd120 data append:

• Texas: US Supreme Court reinstated the new Texas congressional map that had been struck down by a previous court, December 2025

• California: New districts approved by voters to redraw the state's Congressional map, November 2025

• Missouri: New Congressional map signed into law by the Governor, September 2025

• North Carolina: Redistricted Congressional map enacted by the General Assembly, October 2025

• Ohio: Revised Congressional map approved unanimously by the Ohio Redistricting Commission as required by a constitutional amendment, October 2025

• Utah: New court-ordered Congressional map following the Utah Supreme Court's ruling that the previous map constituted an unlawful partisan gerrymander, November 2025

Ongoing Redistricting

This mid-cycle redistricting wave is historically unusual. States typically only redraw Congressional boundaries once per decade after the Census, but this cycle has seen both Republican- and Democratic-led states redraw maps ahead of the November 2026 midterm elections.

The redistricting landscape is still evolving, with additional states at various stages of the redistricting process, including Virginia, Maryland, and others. Some maps are still subject to legal challenges or legislative action.

Geocodio is actively monitoring all ongoing redistricting developments and will continue to update the cd120 append as new maps are finalized. Be sure to check our redistricting tracker regularly for the latest state-by-state status updates.

How To Get the Updated Congress Boundaries

Whether you're using the cd120 field append via the Geocodio API or spreadsheet upload, the updated boundaries are already live. Addresses or coordinates in these five states will now return the new district assignments when you query with cd120.

Adding 120th Congress Districts to a Spreadsheet of Addresses or Coordinates

With you upload a spreadsheet of addresses on Geocodio, you can one-click add Congressional districts and member information. When you upload your file and check the box for "US Congressional Districts" in the data appends step, you'll see an option to select "Districts as of the 120th Congress" from the dropdown menu. Choose that option manually and you're all set.

(Remember, if you don't select an option from the drop-down, it will default to the 119th Congress districts.)
